Sam is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College of California with a double major in English and Theatre and additional training in clowning, devising, improv, and Commedia. Sam began her career with a year-and-a-half touring the US, Canada, and southeast Asia with the Missoula Children’s Theatre, followed by over two years teaching and performing with the California Theatre Center in Sunnyvale. Favorite roles include Leo Clark in Hillbarn’s “Leading Ladies,” Virgil in Epic Immersive’s sold out run of “Infernal Motel,” Lucinda in Los Alto’s Stage Company’s “Into the Woods,” and Warriorsgirl30 in the Pear’s production of “Spending the End of the World on OkCupid.”
The era of shelter-in-place has brought new challenges to living as a theatre artist, but Sam is still working with her favorite companies as best she can. She is currently appearing in The Pear’s socially distanced “Lysistrata” as the Old Man’s Chorus and Kinesias. You can also find Sam as a moderator for Hillbarn Theatre’s Wednesday night trivia sessions on twitch or as a host for the Dragon Theatre’s creepy storytelling show, “Sleepless with the Dragon” every third Saturday of the month. She is also proud to continue her work with the Red Ladder Theatre Company, now creating distanced-learning theatre workshops for incarcerated men and women in California State prisons.
